Thompson Thrift Breaks Ground on 273-Unit The Crossing Lofts at Fishers District in Indiana

FISHERS, INDIANA, OCTOBER 26, 2026 — Thompson Thrift announced that construction has begun on The Crossing Lofts at Fishers District, a 273-unit luxury multifamily community in Fishers, Indiana. The development will include approximately 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, with first residents expected to move in during January 2028.
The community is located within The Crossing at Fishers District, the southern portion of Thompson Thrift's Fishers District master plan. The site is home to the 7,500-seat Fishers Event Center. The four-story, elevator-served building will feature attached structured parking and provide residents with walking access to dining, shopping, and entertainment options throughout the district.
"The Crossing Lofts represents another important step in bringing our long-term vision for Fishers District to life," said Josh Purvis, managing partner of Thompson Thrift Residential. "Over the past decade, Fishers District has evolved into a vibrant mixed-use destination, and this community will build on that momentum by bringing residents closer to everything the district has to offer."
The Crossing Lofts will offer studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartment homes with up to 1,440 square feet of space. Units will include quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, hardwood-style flooring, large walk-in closets, full-size washers and dryers, and smart-home technology. Select homes will feature premium finishes, a den, private yards, and other upgraded features.
Community amenities will include a resort-style heated swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, courtyards with grilling and gathering areas, a pet spa, social hub, coffee bar, focus suites, and resident conference space. The development will also feature a Minnow Pod, a secure, temperature-controlled food delivery station.
The property is located near Interstate 69 and 116th Street, providing access to I-465 and major employment centers throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The community will sit adjacent to the event center and within walking distance of The Union, The Yard, and Slate at Fishers District.
According to the company, when completed, The Crossing at Fishers District will include more than 75,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space, one 125-room hotel, and nearly 500 multifamily units.
Thompson Thrift began work on Fishers District in 2015. The company states the approximately $750 million, 123-acre master-planned development will include five distinct developments offering multifamily and townhome residences, hotels, office space, dining, shopping, and entertainment.
